For people, the holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year. But for businesses, it can turn out to be the most stressful time.   • Your promotional campaign should cater to emotions. Whether you are giving freebies, discounts, or coupons, weave a good story in your promotions that will touch the audience and prompt them to make a purchase.

  • Increase your business hours timing in this holiday season and inform everyone at least one month in advance. Customers may require some last-minute hurried shopping and seeing only your store opened will be advantageous to you.

  • Show your loyal customers how much they mean to you. Send handwritten holiday cards to them and your vendors wishing them well. You can also send complimentary gifts which can be coupons or exclusive discounts.v

  • Be organized in your activities. This is a chaotic time with lots of things to do in a short time. If you forget even one task, it may prove to be problematic and may break the schedule.

  • Host a Holiday party! For one day you can keep open your business till late in the night, do some amazing decorations, invite all your loyal customers, and celebrate Christmas together.

  • Send your emails and Holiday cards early. You should take into account any delays in transit and still your recipients should get them on time. It would be embarrassing if you wish Christmas on the New Year Day.

  • Your customers should be at the center of all your marketing activities. It is good etiquette and the best way to attract them. Include them in your posts, videos, or other creations. Feature their stories, with families, happy holiday moments, etc.

  • Don’t wait too long to start planning your holiday activities and promotions. Strategize early so that you get ample of time to rework and perfect your plan.

  • Don’t focus more and waste money on Holiday greeting cards as they will be thrown away anyways in a few days. Don’t give them to everyone, only a selected few.

  • Don’t finish your product inventory well before time. Ensure you are having a surplus stock that will last well beyond the beginning of the New Year.

  • The most important of them all – don’t stress out too much. Holidays should be happy and cheerful days for all, even you.
